Defected Fairy Bottle…

Guess what everyone, I’m still alive, and I’m here with a fairy in a bottle in order to revive this dead blog!

I have an entry planned (something I made while visiting my aunt in Michigan), but I will be busy over the next few days, so I’m not sure when I’ll have time to write this entry. It will come in time though, I can promise you this.

I will be heading back down to Michigan to spend Christmas with my aunt’s family, so I’m sure I’ll have more entries to write when the time comes.

Look forward to them!
Daniel

FAV’D! – Food Across Vancouver (with) Daniel

EDIT: Clear one a day has proven to be impossible for me… I’ll post them ASAP… :’D

As some of you may know (the people that read my Nutella Cheesecake Cup post), I recently took a trip to Vancouver. During my stay in Vancouver, I stayed at Shiina Mint’s house, who doesn’t have wireless internet, so I couldn’t update the blog as often as I would like to. Also because I was out from early morning to late at night. But fear not! That is why this series will exist!

I shall call it… Food Across Vancouver with Daniel, or FAV’D (because we’re totally ignoring the w)

Every day(No, Daniel. You suck, so every day is not possible), I will have a new entry for a restaurants I’ve ate in Vancouver in chronological order. I will also talked about I’ve been doing in Vancouver up until the restaurant I am reviewing that post.

As I post a new entry about the restaurant, I will update this post with links for the restaurant as this post will act as the master post.

Here is the list of the restaurants that I will be writing about:
1. Ramen Jinya
2. Famoso
3. Tealips
4. Shiro Sushi
5. Gyo-O
6. Italian Kitchen
7. Mink
8. Banana Leaf
9. Thierry
10. Burgoo
11. 生活小館 (Estea)
12. Guu Garden
13. G-Men/Nanchuu Izakaya
14. Leisure
15. 好彩小廚 (Good Choice Restaurant)

I hope you will enjoy this mini-series and continue to follow my adventures in Vancouver!

Until next dine,
Daniel

Mintea’s Cafe Adventures – CANADA (Part 1)

Feeling sad that I haven’t started a food blog earlier, I realized that there would be no way I could make an entry for all the places I have already went to and commented on.

As I have said on my introduction entry,
I also keep a cafe adventure FB page. Since it’s too tough to transfer the pictures and comments over, I have decided from now on to keep the reviews for cafes there and restaurants/possible cooking review here. If I upload any albums, I will notify you with a post. If there was a REALLY special cafe experience, I will write a detailed entry here.

Check it out if you love cafes, tea, coffee, and sweets!

I have recently just added the Canada-edition of my cafe adventures. (Most of the other albums were dedicated to Japan and Taiwan.) Really wish more people got to see it and go on cafe adventures too! Part two of the album is on it’s way.

Here’s a peek from some of my tasty encounters:

Cavino – Coffee by Day – Wine by Night

Do you dine out often? How many times do you dine out in a month?

After some thought, I realized aside from Vancouver dine outs, I generally dine out (by dine out, I mean eating at mid to high end restaurants) at least once a month. This probably started when I began dating my current boyfriend. We would always eat at a nice place to celebrate another month being together. Now, it became a delicious (and expensive!) habit that’s hard to break, haha.

So the other day, we decided upon a place called Cavino. To be honest, since it’s very late in the Vancouver dine out week, many of the places I set my eyes on either didn’t have a menu I could look at on-line or were already fully booked on the days we were available. Cavino’s menu barely caught my attention amongst the many others, but I am SO GLAD I went.

Here’s the address of the place: 1234 Hornby StreetVancouver, BC V6Z 1W2
It is in downtown, 6 blocks away from Vancouver Centre Skytrain.
I give directions so bad that they would lead you to China (seriously, but not literally, haha), so check out their website for more info regarding location.

More just came.

Hey everyone,

This blog, The Legend of Food, is becoming a joint blog, with me being the second blogger!
Don’t worry, the main course will still be dedicated mostly to reviewing (hopefully) tasty food, with some humour on the side.

I am Shiina Mint. You can call me Shiina, Minty, or whatever may suit your fancy. I love eating, collecting teacups, and travelling. I am especially obsessed with tea, going to cafes, and having extravagant afternoon teas :D Daniel is my best guy friend, and we met during high school.
While we both love food, we specialize and focus on different things – this you’ll find out as our blog progresses, hehe.

I judge a place by 3 things:
1) Ambiance/Service
2) Interior/Tea cups/Utensils
3) Food

For cafes, I will care much more about the ambiance and interior than I would for restaurants. For restaurants, I tend to focus more on the food. If I omit anything, it is probably because there is not much about it to mention.

This is for fun, but we’re serious with food, so I hope you’ll enjoy reading our entries :D

This is all for now! Got a midterm tomorrow, haha.
Wish me luck!

P.S. Check out my cafe adventures on my Facebook page called Mintea’s Cafe Adventures if you’d like!
